KidsArt Gallery The KidsArt Gallery is a popular feature of the Driftless Area Art Festival.  The purpose of the KidsArt program is to applaud and encourage the creativity of area students.  The Kids' Creativity Zone makes the tent a popular destination.

The work of elementary and middle school students from all parts of the Driftless Area is invited.  Art teachers and clubs can organize joint submissions, or students can submit independently.

The 2011 award recipient for Grades 1-3 is Emma Kapinus, a student at the Wauzeka-Steuben Elementary school. Laura Buchner was the blue ribbon winner in Grades 4-5; she attends St. Charles Parochial School in Genoa.  The blue ribbon in the middle school category went to Jadynn Yocum, who was a seventh-grader at Kickapoo Middle school when she took the photograph.

Congratulations to these three talented artists, and to all the others who won Achievement ribbons, or whose work was chosen for display.

Spring Gala KidsArt Auction Their artwork will be sold via live auction at our Spring Gala on May 19, 2012.  Proceeds from the KidsArt Auction will go to the art programs of the schools attended by the winners.

The KidsArt auction has raised $2,310 for school art programs since its inception in 2007.
This year's KidsArt Gallery began a new tradition, the inclusion of the work of high school artists.  The "Best of Show" blue ribbon went to Julia Rose Morgan, a senior at Viroqua's Laurel High School.  Her oil painting is titled "April Showers predict May Disasters."  Congratulations to her, and to Laurel graduate Sidney Westerhoff, whose collage "Poetry" garnered an Honorable Mention.
