River Ramblers |
 |
Long-time
friends who enjoy old-time music, the River Ramblers are known
for Appalachian string band fiddle tunes as well as for their
renditions of Irish music, rags, and waltzes.
Jane Keeley plays banjo, Kevin Dohse and Bill Mort play
mandolin, Sue Coale is on guitar, and Tim Jenkins plays a mean
fiddle. |

Patchouli |
Bruce
Hecksel and Julie Patchouli have been playing together since
1993. His primary instrument is the acoustic guitar.
Hers is her voice, and the words she composes. Bruce also
plays the bass guitar and percussion. Julie also plays the
12-string guitar, bass marimbas, flutes, and hand drums.
She's a poet. He's a picker. Together they make
beautiful music.
The powerhoue duo has delivered over 1,800 performances, made 12
CDs, and traveled over a half million miles to bring their "fast
forward folk" music to enthusiastic audiences across the nation.

The DitchLilies |
 |
Kari Larson and Lisa Schultz,
WIsconsin's American Roots duo, have been in musical cahoots
since 1998. They have a soft spot for early swing,
old-time mountain music and juke joint songs.
Kari is the consummate multi-instrumentalist, performing on
mandolin, resophonic guitar and ukelele, lap steel guitar and
tenor guitar. Lisa performs on guitar, clawhammer banjo
and mandolin. Their voices are beautiful instruments too.
The DitchLilies have performed at many art and music festivals
and on WIsconsin Public Radio. Their latest CD is called
"Drifting."

String Ties |
The Tie guys blend bluegrass,
old-time country, swing, gospel and folk into an engaging
version of acoustic music.
Larry Dalton, on the stand-up bass, has played with big bands,
jazz combos, classical ensembles, and rockabilly groups.
Tommy Pfaff has been playing the 5-string banjo for over 30
years, yet claims he has "nonetheless failed to learn how to
play the banjo in even a remotely musical way." Wayne
Beezeley started plunking around on the mandolin when he
was only 11, and now will play almost anything but hip-hop.
And Dan Sebranek, part of an acclaimed Wisconsin musical family,
plays guitar not only as a member of String Ties, but also with
the popular duo Johnsmith.
