Our 2011 Spring Gala was held in the dining lodge at Sugar Creek Bible Camp near Ferryville.
We enjoyed record attendance and the event raised over $7,500 for the art festival.
Beautiful bouquets from Star Valley Flowers graced every table. |
 |
Chef Monique Hooker
created an incredible dinner featuring local foods, with
ingredients coming from Organic Valley, Driftless Organics,
Peoples Food Coop, Artos Bakery, Vernon Vineyards, and Kickapoo Coffee
Roasters.
Students from North Crawford and De Soto
school districts helped prepare and serve the dinner. |
 |
| Over thirty Driftless Area artists generously
contributed over $4,200 worth of art to our silent auction.
It was a fine showing of the talents of our visual artists, and
we thank them all. |
 |
 |
The three winning KidsArt pieces from
the 2010 festival were sold in a live auction that brought $1,400 to
the school art programs of the student artists.
In addition, a ceramic mask donated by a KidsArt participant
brought $400 that will go to support the KidsArt Activity Zone
and Gallery at the art festival. |
| Artists Angela Feltes (middle) and
Jamie Heinden (right) drew the winning
raffle tickets. Monica Swallow of Oconomoc was the lucky winner of
Jamie's
beautiful photograph "Working Neighbors." Nora
Knapik of Soldiers Grove won Angie's handwoven bamboo scarf, and
Cynthia Rogan, who lives in the Chicago area, won Nick Smolen's
forged iron candlesticks. |
|
 |
The evening culminated with wonderful music
by Simply JP.
We thank everyone who helped, attended, and bid, and hope to see
you at our 2012 Gala. |
